The implementation of the Product Information Management for Galicja Tomaszek was an essential stage in the process of digital sales transformation (commerce transformation), which we carry out in this company. This PIM allows both Brand Managers and external suppliers to create product descriptions together, thus generating product cards for each item in the portfolio of a given brand. The choice of Pimcore technology for this task was primarily dictated by its flexibility, open code, ease of plug-in and scalability. An additional advantage that spoke in favor of Pimcore is the community that takes an active part in the tool’s development.

The PIM system also allows to control the process of work on a given product and to generate reports concerning it. Each of the Pimcore panel users who participate in such a process may have different permissions (roles), as well as differences regarding their responsibilities in the project.

One of the most interesting functionalities we have prepared in the Pimcore panel, as a response to the customer’s needs, is the mechanism for generating price labels by stationairy stores and their employees. Through access to the object search engine, they can select specific product attributes to be placed in the price label template, according to the specification of a given object. We have prepared various templates of such labels for the client, ensuring that each of them can be displayed anywhere in the stationary store.
Ready-made price lists can be either printed individually or added to the lists in case multiple prints are necessary at once. All items within one list are then exported to a ready-to-print PDF. Importantly, the pricelists (even though the templates differ) are placed on one page to save as much paper as possible when printing. This significantly reduces costs and has a positive impact on the environment.
